2 cups of flour
4 teaspoons of baking powder
1 tablespoon of sugar
1/2 teaspoon of salt
Mix well.
Add 1/2 cup of shortening or butter
1 beaten egg
2/3 cup of milk
Mix together well.
Knead and pat down mixture to approximately 3/4 of an inch thick. Cut biscuits out of mixture.
Bake on the middle rack, in a preheated oven at 425 degrees for 10 - 14 minutes.
